Wavelength Calculator

λ = c / f — Calculate sound wavelength from frequency and temperature.

How to use this calculator

1. Enter a frequency — Type a frequency or drag the slider (20 Hz to 20 kHz). The wavelength updates instantly.

2. Set temperature — Sound travels faster in warm air. Adjust the temperature slider (0–40°C / 32–104°F) for accurate results.

3. Read the results — See wavelength in feet, meters, and inches. The harmonic table shows related frequencies (half-wavelength, quarter-wavelength, etc.) — useful for subwoofer placement and room treatment.

4. Harmonic bars — The color-coded frequency chart below shows up to 10 harmonics of your base frequency. Hover or tap any bar to hear a tone. The crossfader blends between hover tones and the continuous tone.

5. Per-bar gain sliders — Each harmonic has its own volume slider. Adjust to hear how different harmonics contribute to the overall sound. Tip: great for understanding timbre — turn up odd harmonics for a brighter sound.

6. Live Spectrum Analyzer — The real-time frequency analyzer shows the harmonic content as you play. Use it to visualize which frequencies dominate.

7. Oscilloscope — Toggle the scope to see the combined waveform of all active harmonics.
